Firecracker Sauce

It's only a couple days before I hope to watch my Carolina Panthers shut down the Denver Broncos in what should be an exciting and well-matched Superbowl 50. And being the Superbowl, I needed a super dipping sauce for all my baked and deep fried low carb treats.

This sauce is aptly named because it feels like a firecracker went off in your mouth.  There is a LOT of flavor here so it's not all about the heat, but if you love a sweet heat, this is your treat.

2 cloves of garlic; grated
1 teaspoon fresh ginger; grated
2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
1/2 cup Splenda Granular (or equivalent)

1 teaspoon molasses
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup sugar free ketchup
2 tablespoons El Yucateco Red Habanero Hot Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together ginger, garlic, sweetener, molasses, apple cider vinegar, sf ketchup, and hot sauce.

Whisk well.
Pour into a small sauce pan on low heat.

Cook for 5 to 7 minutes stirring frequently.
Remove sauce from heat and pour into heat safe bowl.

Add crushed red pepper to sauce.

"Keep Pounding, Panthers!"

Cook's Note:
The tiny amount of molasses gives the Splenda a "brown sugar" taste
I could eat this stuff by the gallon so you may want to multiply the recipe for a large group.

Use it for coating or dipping sauce for cheese, meatballs, wings, ANYTHING you want to spice up!
