Taco Patties

The taste of a taco without the shells. Perfect on a bun - or on top of a salad!

1 lb ground beef (or turkey or chicken)
1 egg
2/3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup water
1 envelop taco seasoning mix (divided)
1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)

Mix meat, egg, 1/2 taco seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and shape into 4 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick.
Brown patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning once. The patties should be firm, but not done at this point. Remove patties and set aside.

Pour fat from the skillet.
Mix water and seasoning mix in the same skillet and heat to boiling.
Reduce the heat and return the patties to the skillet.
Turn each one to coat with the sauce.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with the cheese; cover and heat until the cheese has melted, about 2 minutes.

Serve with onion slices, guacamole, chopped tomato, shredded lettuce or your favorite taco fixin's. You can spoon the extra sauce over the patties for added flavor.
